Stan Lee Documentary Coming to Disney+ in 2022

In celebration of Stan Lee’s 100th birthday, Marvel announced that a documentary about his life will be available on Disney+ in the coming year. Lee, who passed away in 2018, played a significant role in the creation of numerous iconic Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and The Incredible Hulk.

Marvel has not yet disclosed many details about the upcoming documentary about Stan Lee, but a teaser featuring Lee’s cameos in Marvel Cinematic Universe films has been released. It is uncertain at this time whether the documentary will delve into the nuanced aspects of Lee’s life or who will be involved in narrating his story.

Disney has produced a number of documentary projects for its streaming service, Disney+, that draw from the company’s rich history. When Disney+ launched three years ago, it included a docuseries on the Imagineers, the designers behind its theme parks. It has also released documentaries on the history of its rides, Mickey Mouse, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the cultural influence of Marvel.
