Sharp is planning to launch new OLED and QD-OLED TVs, following in the footsteps of Samsung and Sony. The QD-OLED TVs will be part of the FS1 and FQ1 series and will feature Sharp’s new AI processor, which can adjust colors, brightness, and detail automatically based on detected content. The TVs will also have advanced display technology, HDMI 2.1 ports, Variable Refresh Rates, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and WiFi 6.
QD-OLED technology is gaining attention in the industry, especially among filmmakers, as it offers increased brightness without compromising the deep blacks of OLED displays. This makes it appealing for mastering movies and TV shows for home viewing. The future of QD-OLED TVs looks promising, with potential for more vivid HDR content as the technology becomes more widely adopted. The new TVs are currently available in Japan, but there is no official word on a global release yet.
