Samsung has announced the expansion of its self-repair program to the UK and several other European countries, following its successful launch in the United States last year. This program allows users to access the necessary tools and parts required to repair supported devices, including the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Book Pro regular and Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops.
The aim of Samsung’s self-repair program is to extend the lifespan of its devices, encouraging users to experience the optimized performance of their Galaxy devices for as long as possible. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung, stated, “We are committed to scaling access to our Self-Repair program around the world while improving the repairability of our products.”
Apart from the UK, the self-repair program will be available in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden. While Samsung collaborated with iFixit in the US, parts distributors ASWO and 2Service will handle sales and distribution of the repair kits in Europe. The program has already been launched in some European regions, with a planned rollout in the UK by the end of June.

Owners of Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 series smartphones will have the option to replace the phone screen, back glass, and charging ports. For Galaxy Book Pro users, seven parts will be available, including the case front, case rear, display, battery, touchpad, power key with fingerprint reader, and rubber feet.
Repair kits in Germany are priced at approximately €30, although pricing for the UK market has yet to be disclosed. In Germany, the charging port and back panel for the Galaxy S20 cost around €50, while the display replacement is priced at €200. Prices increase for newer and higher-end models, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra display replacement priced at €310. Samsung provides how-to videos and additional support on a dedicated support page for the self-repair program.
By expanding its self-repair program to the UK and Europe, Samsung aims to empower users to take control of repairing their devices, prolonging their lifespan, and reducing electronic waste. The availability of affordable repair kits and replacement parts offers a more sustainable and cost-effective solution for consumers, while also promoting the company’s commitment to product repairability and customer satisfaction.
