Roku unveils its first smart TV range with the OS 12 upgrade

The first Roku-branded televisions are now available. The Select and Plus Series Televisions vary in size from 24 to 75 inches to meet “any space or budget” and may be bought via Best Buy locations or the seller’s website.

“Our objective is to make everything about owning a smart TV deliciously easy, from selecting the appropriate TV for you to opening and unpacking to watching your favourite movies and TV programmes,” said Mustafa Ozgen, president of Devices at Roku.

Although the Roku Select TVs provide an HD experience, the firm places its sights on the Plus Series TVs, which include 4K Dolby Vision Picture, adaptive brightness, local dimming, Dolby Atmos, and more.

This Roku TV, powered by Wi-Fi 6, is ready to let customers quickly locate and access the content they want to watch. Users may take use of a new Voice Remote Pro, which includes hands-free voice commands, a Lost Remote Finder, personal shortcut buttons, and a rechargeable battery, in addition to Roku streaming for access to a variety of free, live, and premium TV.

In addition, the business has stated that its OS 12 upgrade will be released in the coming weeks. This version focuses on Live TV, Content Access and Discovery, and Mobile features.

Roku is introducing Local News to the Live TV area, bringing 350+ free linear TV streaming stations from key locations around the US. Premium Subscriptions will make it easier for customers to find and sign up for premium channels to which they are not presently subscribing.

The streamer is also extending its sports offering to include golf and new soccer content, including Spanish-language game coverage of certain soccer leagues. In the next months, Roku will extend the available channels for the TV experience.

Finally, Roku’s mobile app will be improved in the coming months with a redesigned Account Hub, a more simplified Home Screen, a Live TV Channel guide button, and an upgraded Roku Photo stream area.
