Razer Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed Earbuds Offer Low Latency for Gaming
Wireless earbuds have traditionally fallen short when it comes to providing optimal audio for PC gaming, due to latency issues and the absence of Bluetooth on certain desktops. However, Razer believes it has found a solution by including a dongle. The gaming hardware company has unveiled the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed earbuds, which come bundled with a 2.4GHz RF adapter that plugs into the USB-C port of your computer or console (a USB-A adapter is also included). This not only expands compatibility to a wider range of devices but also significantly reduces latency to 40ms compared to the 60ms experienced with Bluetooth-based Gaming Mode. Furthermore, users can still connect the earbuds to their phones via Bluetooth to handle calls seamlessly.
In terms of features, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed earbuds are similar to the standard Hammerhead Pro model. They offer THX-certified sound quality with customizable active noise cancellation (ANC) levels. True to Razer’s style, the earbuds also sport Chroma RGB lighting, allowing users to personalize their audio experience. Battery life varies depending on the connection and usage scenario. When connected via Bluetooth with ANC and lighting disabled, users can enjoy up to 6.5 hours of listening time, with an additional 24 hours of power available from the wireless charging-capable case. Enabling ANC and lighting reduces the runtime to 3.5 hours, while using the dongle shortens it to between three and four hours (with an added 11 to 14.5 hours from the case).

The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed earbuds are now available for purchase at a price of $200. This makes them an attractive option for users seeking versatile earbuds that can seamlessly transition between their smartphone and home gaming PC. However, it’s worth noting that there are alternative options available that may offer superior sound quality or longer battery life, especially for those who prefer to stick with Bluetooth connectivity. Razer’s latest offering is primarily aimed at individuals who would rather not invest in a separate gaming headset, providing a convenient all-in-one audio solution.
As the demand for immersive and high-quality audio experiences continues to grow in the gaming industry, Razer’s Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed earbuds aim to cater to the needs of PC gamers by delivering minimal latency and customizable features. With its robust feature set and compatibility with a range of devices, these earbuds are poised to capture the attention of gaming enthusiasts looking to enhance their audio experience while gaming on their PCs and consoles.
