The Dyson 360 Vis Nav incorporates a piezo sensor, initially introduced in Dyson’s V15 Detect cordless handsticks, which creates a dust map of the home. While the sensor doesn’t provide a graphical representation of the particles being cleaned, it allows users to access the dust map through the MyDyson smartphone app.

Navigation is a key strength of the Dyson 360 Vis Nav, thanks to a fish-eye lens that provides a 360º view and 26 additional sensors. These sensors serve various purposes, including obstacle avoidance, dust detection, edge detection, and calculating time of flight (ToF) for accurate navigation and map creation. Unlike some competitors, the Dyson robot vacuum does not utilize lidar technology.

Dyson’s claim of a superior floor clean stems from the device’s remarkable suction power. With a maximum of 65 air watts (AW) and a redesigned Hyperdymium motor spinning at up to 110,000rpm, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav stands as one of the most powerful robot vacuums available. While it may not claim the top spot in terms of suction power, its dynamic suction adjusts automatically in Auto mode, providing optimal cleaning performance across different floor surfaces.
