We have a lot of aspects changing in terms of computers and smartphones, but another little device that is undergoing upgrades at a similar pace is earphones. With most phone manufacturers now ditching the headphone jack in their devices, there is a rising demand for wireless headsets. But its not just the application that people look for in these headsets, it is also the aesthetics. With phones and laptops now becoming sleeker and more beautiful with every new iteration, headphone brands are working very hard to create devices that complement their paired counterparts. One such brand is Panasonic. Most of us have been seeing Panasonic devices in our homes or even on the television ads, and after trying their hand at most other products, they  are now working on upgrading their Bluetooth headset lineup, and today, we are going to take a look at one such product, aka, the Panasonic RP-BTS35 Bluetooth headset.

Panasonic is a brand known for their rather no-nonsense approach to product design, with bolder sharper edges and a very utility driven form factor. With the BTS35 however, they are showing us a whole other side. Built primarily for the people who work out a lot, the BTS35 is a wireless headset that features a sleek design, is waterproof, comes in interesting colours, has a good battery backup and at the same time, does not burn a sizeable hole in your wallet.

Coming to the design, the BTS35 features what Panasonic calls, the Wing design. The earphones fit snugly in the ear thanks to the 3D flex feature and there are also a set of in-line mic and controls that allow you to handle the calls and music playback. We also get a small variety of colour options that you can choose from – Black, White, Yellow and Blue. The overall build is robust and coupled with IPX5 certification, the BTS35 is water and snow proof as well, making this product an absolute winner if you are someone who commutes outside a lot or is a workout addict.

Coming to the performance, the BTS35 features 9mm drivers that deliver bright, high-end trebles and enhanced bass for dynamic music playback both indoors and outdoors. Along with this, Panasonic is also giving us the one sync feature where the device and earphones automatically, the moment you turn the BTS35 headset on.

Finally, we come to the playback performance. A rather pain point for customers is how the Bluetooth headset just discharges at the wrong time. The BTS35 however, is designed to enthral at all times. The Quickcharge feature gives you 70 minutes of playback with just a quick 15-minute charge while a full charge gives you a respectable 7-hour playback.

These headphones do a great job blocking out other ambient noise.  There is no smartphone app for the RP-BT35A headphones so you will use your  music app on your smartphone.

Coming to the pricing, the BTS35 headset is available for online order on most sites including the official Panasonic website for $79.99 for any colour of your choice.

All in all, the Panasonic BTS35 headset is a symbol of how far, headsets have come, especially Bluetooth headsets, which started out as a premium investment but have now become household commodities everywhere. Coming to the device itself, Panasonic prides itself over robust and sleek hardware, and the BTS35 is no different. Expect some powerful beats while you workout because these earphones are designed to dominate. The over-the-ear design and rigid frame on these earphones mean that if you’re head and ears are slightly larger or smaller than the design is intended for you’re going to not enjoy your time with them. That said, I love the design of these and the headphones stay in place regardless of my outdoor/indoor activity. I’ve worn these earphones and they’re rock solid on my ears.
