According to the report, Nvidia is discreetly engaged in the design of new CPUs. These processors are expected to find their place in laptops, especially those running Windows on Arm, and quite possibly in desktop computers. This initiative aligns with Microsoft’s strategy to encourage chip manufacturers to adopt Arm-based processors. Following Apple’s successful transition to in-house Arm chips for Macs, Microsoft is keen to replicate the success.
As highlighted in the Reuters report, since Apple’s introduction of the M1 chip three years ago, the company has nearly doubled its market share in the PC industry, as per preliminary Q3 figures from the analyst firm IDC. Microsoft aims to capitalize on this shift and broaden its presence in the market.
