True multi-device syncing was introduced by the service in 2021, enabling users to access their accounts even when their phone is offline or out of reach. Following that, WhatsApp must have realised that improved apps on various platforms were required if consumers were to enjoy using the messenger across a variety of devices. In January, WhatsApp made the beta version of its native app for Mac available to all users. WhatsApp originally published a native client for Windows 10 in 2022. The latter performs better on Apple’s desktop OS than the earlier web-wrapped software because it was designed for Mac hardware.
