NordPass, one of the top password managers, has made an update that allows users to access NordPass Premium on an unlimited number of devices. Previously, the Premium version was limited to six devices, putting it behind competitors that offered unlimited device access. The change was made in response to user feedback, with many wanting the freedom to use NordPass across multiple devices and ecosystems. NordPass is cross-platform, supporting various browsers and offering extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Opera, and Brave. This update is part of a series of enhancements NordPass has made, including file attachments, customization options, and upcoming passkey support for mobile devices.

NordPass has announced a significant update to its password manager, allowing users of NordPass Premium to access the service across an unlimited number of devices. Previously, the Premium version had a limit of six devices, which put it at a disadvantage compared to competitors that offered unlimited device access. NordPass made this change in response to user demand, as many users wanted the flexibility to use NordPass on all their devices without restrictions.

The decision to remove the device limit was driven by the desire to free users from being tied to a single ecosystem. According to NordPass, users increasingly wanted the ability to access their passwords across different devices and platforms. In a survey conducted by NordPass, customers expressed their preference for a password manager that was not tied to a specific browser or operating system.

NordPass stands out as a cross-platform solution with extensions available for popular browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Opera, and Brave. This allows users to use NordPass seamlessly across different web browsers and operating systems, providing a unified experience across their devices.

The company has observed a growing trend among users who install NordPass on both their work and personal devices. With the previous device limit, many users reached the maximum number of allowed devices, prompting NordPass to remove the restriction and offer unlimited device access.

In addition to removing the device limit, NordPass has introduced several other updates to enhance its service. Users can now attach files to items in their vaults, with a capacity of up to 50 files and a total capacity of 3GB. NordPass claims this is the largest file attachment capacity among password managers.

Furthermore, NordPass now allows users to customize their items by adding their own fields for additional credentials beyond passwords, such as passphrases, PIN numbers, company IDs, or phone numbers. However, this feature is currently available only on non-iOS devices.

Passkey support for mobile devices is also on the horizon, enabling users to store their passwordless credentials in NordPass. Currently, this feature is available in the NordPass desktop apps, browser extensions, and web pages, and mobile support is expected to be added soon.
