Nissan’s SEMA Lineup: Rugged Rogue, Sentra DET, and Performance Stars Ready to Shine

An Exclusive Sneak Peek into Nissan's Showcase at SEMA 2023

As the much-anticipated SEMA 2023 show is set to kick off next week, Nissan is gearing up to give car enthusiasts a tantalizing preview of what they have in store at Las Vegas. The automaker has pulled the curtains back on a trio of distinctive vehicles, alongside two production models, to grace the grand stage of SEMA.

Project Rugged Rogue: A Paved Road Wanderer Turned Trailblazer

Nissan’s Project Rugged Rogue, aptly named, takes the 2024 Rogue and transforms it into an adventure-ready machine. Equipped with Nismo off-road components, this family hauler has undergone a significant makeover. It boasts a three-inch suspension lift kit, new wheels adorned with Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires, a custom exhaust system, and carbon fiber fender extensions with a rear spoiler. Adventure seekers will appreciate the addition of a front bumper guard with six-inch round lights, hood-mounted driving lights, and roof-mounted kayak and mountain bike racks. The Project Rugged Rogue is designed for those who seek off-road escapades without sacrificing style and comfort.

Sentra DET Concept: A Race-Inspired Turbocharged Sedan

The Sentra DET concept is a departure from the rugged theme, drawing inspiration from race cars featured in the Sentra Cup, a single-model championship popular in Canada. The DET moniker stands for “Dual overhead cam, Electronic Fuel Injection, Turbo,” hinting at the power under the hood. Nissan has fitted this sedan with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine is enhanced with a new Garrett intercooler and turbocharger, DeatschWerks in-tank fuel pump, AFCO radiator, McLeod lightweight flywheel clutch kit, and Manley pistons. While exact power figures remain undisclosed, the Sentra DET concept boasts a limited-slip differential, upgraded brakes sourced from the Nissan Z, and Recaro front bucket seats. It rolls on 18×8.5-inch Nismo wheels shod with Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 tires in 245/40/18 size. A prototype Nismo cat-back exhaust system not only improves engine breathing but also creates a distinctive soundtrack.

Performance Stars: 2024 Z Nismo and 2024 GT-R Nismo

In addition to the concept vehicles, Nissan will proudly display two of its production models at SEMA 2023. The 2024 Z Nismo has received a significant performance upgrade, now delivering 420 horsepower and featuring Nismo-tuned suspension and brakes. On the other hand, the 2024 GT-R Nismo showcases revised bodywork and an added front limited-slip differential, further enhancing the legendary sports car’s capabilities.

This year’s SEMA show promises to be an exciting spectacle with Nissan’s diverse lineup, spanning rugged adventures, turbocharged racing-inspired sedans, and high-performance sports cars, ready to captivate the audience. Stay tuned for more updates from SEMA 2023, where Nissan’s innovation and ingenuity take center stage.
