After an action-packed last 24 hours, Wordle’s new owner, New York Times has clarified that they have carried over the majority of player streaks for the popular word game. Players were left shocked all over the world when they saw that their hard-earned streaks had been reset to zero and that led to an uproar on social media. There were some players who reported that their streaks were ok, but the majority were falling on the other side of the spectrum.
Times put their experts on the job and quickly put out a clarification that they had been able to successfully migrate the majority of the player streaks over to the new website. They have also conceded that there are some players who are still reporting problems, but it is being looked into.
New York Times recently acquired the popular online word game from the creator after reports emerged that the latter was finding it difficult to maintain the game, especially after its meteoric rise. The New giant has reassured players that the game will remain free to play for the time being, but there is background study going on how they could monetize it.
