New Turkish-made tech glasses are intended to aid those with disabilities

Two innovative gadgets have been created by a company in the southern Turkish province of Hatay employing assistive technology in an effort to improve the quality of life for people and the elderly.

These gadgets, dubbed “Apallon” glasses and the “Apallon Head Mouse,” are designed to help individuals with impairments use phones and tablets. They are supposed to have the most distinguishing qualities that set them apart from other triaxial goods previously manufactured in Turkey.

Apallon glasses are notable for their ability to discern between fake and natural blinking. The other device, the three-axis Apallon Head Mouse, can be used when the head is turned up, down, left, right, or sideways and is designed to make it easier to use televisions, tablets, and phones, particularly for the paralysed or semi-paralyzed, as well as people who are prone to muscle and joint problems.

Students at Frat University Hasan Hüseyin Kahraman and Ykü Gülba?, who are both employed by the business that supplied the gadgets to the Turkish market, offered further details on the devices, which are now believed to be produced solely in Turkey.

The two students said that they believe the main impediments are in technology rather than humans, saying, “We build assistive technology products that enable the handicapped and the elderly to have better lives.”

Although they acknowledged that similar devices had been made in other nations, the students claimed that this one differs from those made overseas in that it can distinguish between fake and natural blinking.

The presence of its x, y, and z axes distinguishes the Apallon Head Mouse gadget from other triaxial devices. This gadget can move up, down, right and left, and sideways when switched on. As a result, individuals can only operate phones, tablets, and laptops by making simple head motions.

Apallon Head Mouse is appropriate for people who have paralysis below the neck. “We have users who have already tried the devices, and it makes us proud to see that contented feeling when they first use them. It is a good device for disabled and ill individuals.”

“The most important feature is triaxial, which is a first in the world. They are produced entirely in Türkiye, both in terms of software and hardware. These devices are produced to remove barriers in technology because our disabled individuals cannot use phones and tablets, our aim is for them to use technological products,” Gülba? said.
