Although LCD screens are still widely used and can be great, OLED is known for being the superior technology. OLED screens provide better brightness, contrast, and power efficiency, leading to improved battery life. Flagship phones all use OLED screens, and there are rumors that iPad Pros will switch to OLED as well.
The switch to OLED screens could increase the cost of MacBook Air, as larger screens with OLED technology tend to be more expensive than LCD ones. However, with Apple’s commitment to OLED in the long term, the move should be beneficial for consumers.
