Navigation App Waze Introduces Feature to Direct Electric Vehicle Drivers to Compatible Charging Stations

The next time you’re out driving and need to find an EV charging station, you could only need one less app and save yourself a headache. Users of Waze will now receive information from Google about charging stations around them that are suitable for their particular automobile.

Since the end of 2021, Google has given Waze users the option to locate recharge outlets along their route. But this adjustment is a little yet important one. Waze will then display charging stations compatible with the relevant information after you share the model of your car and the charging connectors with Google. No more observing your battery dwindle dangerously low before reaching an unusable charging port.

Global EV sales are increasing rapidly. The International Energy Agency reports that barely 120,000 EVs were sold worldwide in 2012. The same number of electric automobiles were being sold each week in ten years. President Biden established the target in September, saying that by 2030, half of all new cars sold in the country would be electric vehicles. on 2022, US businesses invested more than $700 million on the charging of electric vehicles. Additionally, they have invested 13 billion dollars on local production of electric automobiles.

Over the next few weeks, the feature will become available everywhere. The Waze community’s local map editors will keep reviewing and updating the charging station data as needed in real-time.
