NASA Plus: Netflix-like Space-Themed Platform Set to Launch Soon

NASA’s first on-demand streaming platform, NASA Plus, is set to launch later this year, providing stargazers with a new alternative to streaming services like Netflix. The service will be initially ad-free and won’t have any monthly fees, offering live broadcasts and access to NASA’s collection of original video series. It will be available on smartphones, desktops, and some of the best streaming devices, including iOS and Android apps, web browsers, Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.

NASA has previously won Emmy awards for its coverage of the SpaceX Demo-1 mission in 2019, and the promise of new original video series is expected to attract space fans to the service. The move is part of a website and mobile app relaunch, and an early beta version of the new NASA website is already available.

Contrary to the assumption that it might be a paid streaming service, NASA Plus will be completely free, at least initially. While it may not have an extensive library of content initially, it will feature live events and new original video series that could appeal to space enthusiasts.
