Microsoft Unveils New Azure VMs for High-Performance Computing

Both the Ebsv5 and Ebdsv5 NVMe virtual machines offer impressive performance, supporting up to 260,000 IOPS and 8,000 MBps of remote disk storage throughput. These instances can be configured with up to 672 GB of memory, while the Ebdsv5 specifically supports up to 3,800 GB of SSD-based storage.

The improved performance is made possible by the introduction of new E96 and E112i vCPUs. Even the lowest configuration of the Standard_E2bs_v5 VM provides 16GB of memory, 5500 IOPS, and 156 MBps of remote disk storage throughput.
