Microsoft’s Bing chatbot now offers unauthenticated access, allowing users to interact without signing into a Microsoft account. This update opens up the opportunity for anyone to engage with the ChatGPT-powered AI on various topics. However, there is a limitation to the conversation length.
According to Michael Schechter, VP of Search Growth and Distribution (Bing) at Microsoft, unauthenticated users are restricted to just five queries per session, whereas signed-in users enjoy up to 20 queries. Although the conversation limit may seem restrictive, it is an improvement compared to the initial launch when the chatbot encountered issues during lengthy sessions.
To enhance the Bing AI chatbot further, Microsoft has introduced a share button, expanded export options, and improved the copy and paste functionality. These updates aim to offer a more user-friendly experience, as highlighted by Neowin.
By providing unauthenticated access, Microsoft aims to encourage more users to engage with Bing’s chatbot. The company hopes that users will be impressed by the convenience and functionality, ultimately enticing them to sign in for more extended chat sessions. This approach not only allows new users to explore the Bing AI but also generates additional traffic for Microsoft’s search engine platform.
