Microsoft acknowledged the accomplishments of nearly 100,000 engineers and technology enthusiasts who took part in the Future Ready Champions of Code initiative, which began in December 2022. The initiative, which was funded by Microsoft customers and partners, as well as government and industry partners such as AICTE, NASSCOM, ICT Academy, and Foundit, sought to provide developers with globally recognised and industry-endorsed digital and cloud technologies skills and competencies.
In addition to getting Microsoft certifications, developers took part in a statewide hackathon to “Innovate for India’s Growth,” where they created unique ideas and prototypes based on cloud-native architecture and the Microsoft Azure platform. The hackathon’s topics were industry innovation, smart cities, and green or sustainable software.
The top three winning teams were from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, and Indus Net, and were chosen based on their creativity and impact. The TCS team, whose solution was chosen as the best, used Azure Cognitive Services and AI to create an agriculture hub that would serve as a one-stop shop for farmers, assisting them in cultivating better crops, increasing yield, and improving the quality of their lives with a futuristic and simple-to-use smart solution. The Wipro team used Azure Cognitive Search Service to create a next-generation smart-search solution, and the Indus Net team used Azure IoT Services to create a smart commercial vehicle monitoring system.
A blogathon was also held as part of the event, during which developers from the ITES, consultancy, financial services, manufacturing, and startup industries shared their knowledge. The blogathon’s winning blogs will be displayed on the Microsoft Azure website.
“We are delighted to see the overwhelming response that the Future Ready Champions of Code programme received from India’s vibrant developer and tech community,” said Aparna Gupta, Executive Director of Customer Success at Microsoft India. “India’s developer community is one of the youngest and fastest growing in the world, and we continue to empower them with the richest set of technologies and platforms to enable their dreams and to build for the future.”
