LG’s 2023 Soundbars Offer the Ultimate Home Theater Experience with Dolby Atmos and Wireless Connections

LG has teased its 2023 soundbar portfolio ahead of CES, continuing its practice of making multiple announcements before the big event. The SC9 and SE6 versions, both equipped with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for immersive sound, will be on show in Vegas, according to the manufacturer. For the time being, facts are scant, although LG did expound on some of the major features that both soundbars would provide.

The first is that Wow Orchestra, a feature that “utilises every one of the two products’ audio channels to create an expanded soundstage with improved height, depth, and power,” will be available with the SC9 and SE6, according to the firm. That fairly hazy description is all we have until we see them in action, however, LG did mention that the functionality would be available through software updates after the launch. The two soundbars will also utilise Wowcast to connect wirelessly to LG TVs through WiFi. Once linked, you may access audio settings on those screens through the Home Dashboard (also coming via a future update).

The SC9 and SE6’s performance is “boost” by a Triple Sound Optimizer function, while Smart Up-mixer converts stereo music to multi-channel surround sound. LG claims that its AI Room Calibration adapts each soundbar to its environment, boosting low-end frequency range and subdividing the front channels for improved balance, crisper voices, and enhanced conversation. The SC9 and SE6 also offer an AI Sound Pro function that analyses material – movies, games, sports, or music — and applies the ideal settings automatically.

LG claims that the SC9 and SE6 were developed with a minimalist theme to mix in with a variety of household decor. According to the business, a mount for the SC9 connects to LG’s 2022 and 2023 OLED C series TVs to reduce clutter. LG didn’t say much about the changes between the two models, other than that the SE6 is “suited for smaller settings” owing to its modest size. Despite its reduced size, the soundbar still has four passive radiators for “powerful bass,” according to LG, as well as Dolby Atmos compatibility.

The business did not specify if each of them would have a subwoofer or whether extra speakers will be compatible with a complete surround sound system. However, we anticipate learning all of the finer details, as well as information on connection and availability, when we arrive in Las Vegas next week.
