Stella acknowledged that the car overhaul encompasses a complete redesign, with the changes likely to have a lasting impact even into the next season. Recognizing the limitations of their current car, McLaren focused on redesigning the aerodynamics and other components under the bodywork. These extensive modifications are set to be unveiled in Austria and will continue to be fine-tuned in subsequent races. Stella expects the upgrades to be noticeable and hopes they deliver more downforce with similar characteristics.
While the upgrades haven’t been tested in the simulator yet, Stella remains optimistic about their potential. McLaren has demonstrated good correlation between development tools and on-track performance in the past, and they anticipate a significant improvement in lap times by gaining a few tenths of a second.
