Kobo has announced the release of the waterproof Kobo Clara 2E to compete with the Kindle Paperwhite

According to Kobo, the new e-reader is also the Rakuten-owned company’s first made from more than 85 percent recycled plastic, with ocean trash accounting for 10% of that. These adjustments are part of Kobo’s objective of offsetting 100% of the carbon emissions associated with shipping e-readers to consumers. Its magnet-free packaging is also claimed to be more eco-friendly, as it is made from FSC-certified recycled paper and printed with soy ink.
