However, Button later denied having suggested a collaboration with Sebastian Vettel, responding to a tweet from Motorsport.com that implied as much, saying, “I didn’t say anything about a link up with Seb.”
As for Vettel, who is seven years Button’s junior, he has remained tight-lipped about his future plans. His most recent appearance was on the sidelines of the Japanese Grand Prix. There have been reports of a “concrete” offer for him to race in the WEC with the British Hypercar team Jota, but he has yet to make a definitive decision.
