Instagram’s online interface has been revamped for larger displays

Instagram continues to make adjustments to its desktop browser client after permitting uploading last year. Instead of seeming like a bigger version of the mobile app, the current update delivers a refreshed user experience that makes greater use of huge displays.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the upgrade Wednesday, along with the new in-app planner. “We realise a lot of people use the web to multitask, so we wanted to give Instagram the best online experience possible,” he stated in a video. “As a result, it is cleaner, quicker, and simpler to use, and it is now built to take use of large-screen displays.”

The home, search, explore, messages, and notification menus have been relocated to a new side rail that collapses to icons depending on screen size, as illustrated above. Stories are shown at the top, while your profile, recommendations, and other information are displayed to the right. The left menu bar stays when any menu choice is selected, making navigating faster and simpler.

Instagram’s new online design makes it simpler to use, but there’s still no evidence of a dedicated iPad app, as 9to5Mac points out. Mosseri said earlier this year that the iPad was “not large enough” to warrant a separate Instagram app. To obtain a better experience, you might now utilise the online version instead.
