HTC Vive Ultimate Trackers debut cameras for full-body tracking functions

HTC has released the all-new HTC Vive Ultimate Tracker that has been fitted with cameras, which, when paired with one of HTC’s Virtual Reality headsets, delivers one of the most immersive multi-point body tracking for everything from first person shooter to football skill tracking.

The new tracker will be in line with the HTC Vive Tracker 3.0, and each unit will cost you $199. If you are someone who wants to go for the whole set, then HTC is selling a bundle that features three sensors, the wireless dongle, and other required accessories for a price of $599.

HTC has confirmed that you can use up to five ‘Six Degrees of Freedom’ sensors and connect them all to a single headset to achieve full body multi point tracking. Each tracker features two wide field-of-view cameras to precisely locate the wearer’s motions in 3D spaces, which, when taken together, gives the device its complete self-tracking capabilities.

The positional trackers weigh 94 grams per unit, which is not a lot, and users can also connect them to other accessories like a racket sport set or even use it to track dancing using VRChat. They even see a lot of application in sports, especially soccer, where these sensors can offer a lot of insightful data and also help gaming developers offer a more realistic experience to gamers.
