In response to customer concerns, HP acknowledged the problem on Saturday and assured users that a remedy was underway. In a statement to Bleeping Computer, the company stated, “Our teams are working diligently to address the blue screen error affecting a limited number of HP OfficeJet Pro 9020e printers. We are recommending customers experiencing the error to contact our customer support team for assistance: https://support.hp.com.”
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that HP’s software updates have caused issues for its customers. In March, the company faced criticism for its contentious “dynamic security” policy, which restricted compatibility with third-party ink cartridges. As part of its security update, more HP printers became incompatible with non-HP ink cartridges, leading to further dissatisfaction among users.
