HP OfficeJet Printers Bricked After Firmware Update: What You Need to Know

Hewlett-Packard (HP) is facing a backlash from customers following the release of a software update for its OfficeJet printers earlier this month. Numerous reports have flooded the HP support forums, detailing instances of OfficeJet printers becoming inoperable after automatically installing the company’s most recent firmware update.

Upon downloading the faulty software, affected printers display a blue screen with the error code 83C0000B on their built-in touchscreens. Regrettably, users have found themselves unable to rectify the issue independently, primarily because restoring an HP OfficeJet to factory settings requires interaction with the printer’s touchscreen display. Currently, the only viable solution for affected customers is to return the malfunctioning printer to HP for servicing.
