This will copy all the pictures you have in your ‘Photos’ library to the external hard drive. If you have photos saved in any other location, you can simply head to the desired location and copy-paste the contents into the external hard drive.
You can use any type of external hard drive for the Mac (USB-A, USB-C, or even a Thunderbolt type), but if you are on a Macbook device, then you may need to buy a dongle for some of the external hard drives as there are no USB-A or Thunderbolt ports on the newer models.
