Hitachi Energy has launched the next-generation TXpert Hub, which is part of its ecosystem for transformer digitalization. The TXpert Hub enables monitoring by collecting, storing, and analyzing information received from the transformer’s digital sensors. It is designed to simplify digitalization for any transformer, with enhanced connectivity and cybersecurity. The new CoreTec technology powers the next-generation TXpert Hub, and it has been built to incorporate operational experience from users of earlier versions of the system. It also applies the latest technologies in communications and cybersecurity, and it is ready for off-the-shelf retrofits.
The TXpert ecosystem is an open, scalable, and manufacturer-agnostic system for the digitalization of transformers. It is a complete suite of products, software, services, and solutions that work together and have the capability to integrate with new and existing digital equipment from other manufacturers. The ecosystem includes TXpert-Ready digital sensors, the TXpert Hub monitoring system, Asset Performance Management software, and TXpert advanced services. The actionable intelligence delivered by the TXpert ecosystem supports achieving a quantifiable return on investment by optimizing operations, extending life-expectancy, and enhancing environmental performance.
According to Bruno Melles, Managing Director of the Transformers Business at Hitachi Energy, digitalization is crucial to transformers’ pivotal role in enabling efficient, reliable and safe electricity networks, managing power quality and flow control to fit the needs of today and tomorrow. The TXpert ecosystem is applicable to any type of transformer, whether old, new, dry, or liquid-filled, transmission or distribution. With its grounding built on the knowledge and intelligence of manufacturing and servicing thousands of transformers, the TXpert ecosystem delivers actionable, data-driven insights with a real impact on reducing costs, optimizing operations, extending life expectancy, and further enhancing its environmental performance.
