Generative AI is already dictating the number of bosses operating the company

Business big shots are jumping on the AI bandwagon like it’s the hottest thing in town. A fancy study by IBM talked to over 1,600 top dogs in European companies, and guess what? 79% of them are either using AI tools already or planning to. Why? To stay in the game and make customers super happy.

This new AI stuff, especially the generative kind, is changing the game for big bosses. Almost everyone (93%, to be exact) thinks this AI magic can help them make better decisions. Even the folks on the company board are giving it a thumbs up.

Why the AI hype? Well, it’s not just to impress customers (though that’s a big part of it). Business honchos think AI can make things run smoother, crank up sales, and fill their pockets with more cash.

But hold on – AI isn’t a smooth ride. About 38% of UK folks in the study are worried about privacy and being watched as they dive into the AI world. And guess what’s even trickier? The costs and the struggle to find experts in a world where everyone’s hunting for talent.

Here’s the kicker: Only 61% think their crew already has the skills to play with generative AI. That leaves a whopping 93% of leaders scratching their heads, trying to figure out how to get the right skills on their team.
