When it comes to Apple and Samsung devices, one thing that is common is leaks. The moment these brands release their new flagship phones, we start seeing ‘leaks’ and ‘rumours’ for the next flagship. The Samsung Galaxy S24 is no different. We have been seeing and hearing numerous things about the upcoming flagship phone from Samsung, and today, we have some more details to share.
A South Korean outlet ‘The Elec’, revealed to reputed website 9t05Google, that Qualcomm has committed to providing chipsets for a majority of Galaxy S24 devices coming out next year. This indicates that there will be a batch of Galaxy S24 devices running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the remainder will run the home grown Exynos 2400 Chips. However, the chipmaker has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra model will exclusively run the Qualcomm chipsets.
It has been common practise for Samsung to use this split strategy of chipsets with the majority of their S lineup featuring this split (region wise), with the only exception being the S23 series, which exclusively ran the Qualcomm processors on board. But, this little update points towards the return of the Exynos chipsets, which we might see heading to the European models of the Galaxy S24.
Another interesting little detail in this announcement is that, Qualcomm may be working on a bespoke Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for the flagship Galaxy S24 series. The idea will be to release the custom chipset first in the Galaxy S24, and then releasing the chipset as a ‘Plus’ variant, to other Android smartphone makers.
This treatment is thanks to a special partnership between Qualcomm and Samsung, which was made apparent in the Galaxy S23 series as well. For now, this is what we have for you. Stay tuned to this space for more updates on the Samsung Galaxy S24.
