Final Fantasy 14 is running a free promotion for returning gamers, allowing expired accounts to play for free. Square Enix’s MMORPG is still running strong, but like with many subscriptions service games, people come and go owing to a lack of time, financial responsibilities, or other factors.
Final Fantasy 14 often provides opportunity to play for free for people who have let their accounts lapse. Players may see old acquaintances and explore new stuff, and Square Enix hopes that their time in Eorzea will lead to them renewing their membership.
The latest Final Fantasy 14 free login promotion runs from November 18 until December 16 at 6:59 a.m. PST. However, participants are only permitted to participate for four days during this time period. The four-day countdown starts whenever an account is revived under the campaign, regardless of whether a player is presently signed in or not. Unfortunately, any maintenance downtime will eat into this four-day period, so gamers should be informed of any planned maintenance before determining when to check in if they want to make the most of it.
There is some small print for those who want to rejoin. Only current accounts are eligible for the promotion; however Final Fantasy 14 provides a unique free trial for new users that allows them to play up to level 60 without paying a subscription fee. A player’s account must be dormant for at least a month in order to participate in the existing account campaign. Finally, if a player chooses to renew their account membership while participating in a free campaign, the campaign will terminate instantly and the paid subscription will commence, forfeiting any remaining time on the free campaign.
Final Fantasy 14 is one of the best comeback stories in gaming history, and it’s still going strong. After a period of stumbling, the game did something very few had done before: it fully shut down and restarted from the beginning. Thankfully, Square Enix’s gamble paid off, as Final Fantasy 14 is still popular enough to attract people away from the MMORPG legend World of Warcraft. Square Enix just recently announced an increase in Final Fantasy 14 subscriptions.
There’s always something to do in Square Enix’s MMORPG, whether gamers want to participate in the next Final Fantasy 14 raid or just stroll about on an island refuge. While waiting for the next Final Fantasy 14 Fanfest, gamers may meet some familiar faces.
