FIA Responds to Allegations of Additional Formula 1 Cost Cap Breaches

According to Sky F1 reporter Craig Slater, the FIA has dismissed claims that up to three teams are in breach of the 2022 cost cap as inaccurate. Recent reports have emerged suggesting that some teams might not receive the green light for compliance with the cost cap.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has been vocal about the need for sporting penalties for future cost cap offenders. Last year, Red Bull received a 10 percent reduction in wind tunnel time as a penalty for a minor overspend.

However, the FIA has informed Slater that the cost cap auditing process is still ongoing and is scheduled to conclude in the coming weeks. They have not set a deadline for teams to gain certification for the cost cap. The FIA also denies any delay in the process due to in-depth investigations into potential breaches, including allegations of using other projects to mask development on an F1 car.

As of now, the FIA is refuting claims of any teams being in breach of the cost cap, and the auditing process is still underway.
