EA confesses that Battlefield 2042 did not meet expectations

Released in November after a last-minute delay, the game is built on the idea of scale with features like massive multiplayer combat and dynamic tornado weather. According to Wilson, these ambitions, coupled with the game’s remote development issues, led to ongoing issues with Battlefield 2042.

Earlier today, EA announced that it was delaying the upcoming season of the game to this summer, saying that “we’ve improved the Battlefield 2042 experience and finalized the season’s content, giving us time to focus on making sure everything reaches our customers’ quality standards.” Despite the early problems of 2042, Wilson said the publisher was “working hard to realize the full potential of this game.”
