Chevrolet is making waves in the electric vehicle market with the announcement of power and torque ratings for the 2024 Blazer EV’s AWD trims, the 2LT and RS. The dual motor all-wheel drive powertrains in these trims are set to deliver impressive performance.
Both the 2LT and RS AWD trims are confirmed to pack a punch with 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque. This marks the first time Chevrolet has officially disclosed the power and torque figures for these versions of its electric SUV. We’ve reached out to GM for further confirmation and will update this story as soon as we receive a response.
Previously, Chevrolet had only shared the power rating for the high-performance Blazer EV SS model, boasting a formidable 557 horsepower and up to 648 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the Blazer EV PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) was rated at 498 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. However, power ratings for the front-drive 2LT and the rear-drive RS are still under wraps.
Back in July, Chevrolet revealed updated pricing and EPA range ratings for the 2LT AWD, RS AWD, and RS RWD trims. The base Blazer EV 2LT AWD comes with a price tag of $56,715, including shipping, and offers an EPA-estimated range of 279 miles.
There’s more to come as a 2LT FWD trim is expected next year, although pricing details are currently unavailable. Chevrolet anticipates a range rating of 293 miles for this variant.
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AWD will be priced starting at $60,215, delivering a range of 279 miles according to EPA estimates. Surprisingly, the Blazer EV RS RWD comes at a slightly higher starting price of $61,790 but offers the longest range in the lineup at an impressive 320 miles, as confirmed by the carmaker.
Last month, Chevrolet initiated orders for the Blazer EV 2LT AWD and RS AWD, the first trim levels to hit dealerships. The Blazer EV SS, the range-topping model, is expected to become available in spring 2024, following a slight delay by Chevrolet.
Unfortunately, the base 1LT trim level has been discontinued, despite initial expectations of a starting price around $45,000. This position in the lineup will be assumed by the Blazer EV 2LT FWD, set to arrive in 2024. Specific pricing details for this replacement model have not been provided by GM, but it’s clear that it will come at a higher price point than the 1LT, considering that the 2LT AWD begins at $56,715.
