Charles Leclerc and Zhou Guanyu Slapped with Penalties at Hungarian Grand Prix

Zhou’s penalty, on the other hand, came at the start of the race. After a poor start, Zhou braked too late going into Turn 1 and made contact with Daniel Ricciardo, who then collided with Esteban Ocon. The incident ultimately led to a double DNF for the Alpine team. The stewards found Zhou in violation of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 d) of the FIA International Sporting Code and handed him a five-second penalty. Additionally, Zhou received two penalty points on his superlicence for the incident, bringing his total penalty points to four in the last 12 months. Zhou finished 16th in the race for Alfa Romeo.
