Cat Mario is pitted against Donkey Kong in the new ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie’ teaser

Nintendo released a surprise teaser for The Super Mario Bros. Movie over the weekend. The 30-second teaser includes extra footage from a moment previously seen in Nintendo’s video published in November. More significantly, it’s the first time we’ve heard Seth Rogen’s take on Donkey Kong. Rogen’s Donkey Kong begins to giggle once Mario dons his cat outfit, which was originally seen in 2013’s Super Mario 3D World. “You have the kitty box!” “I’m sorry,” the ape says to his former foe before becoming solemn. “You are now dead.”

With the release of the teaser on Sunday, Nintendo has given fans the opportunity to hear the whole ensemble cast of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach. Following the debut of the film’s second teaser, Mario inventor Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Nintendo changed Donkey Kong’s model for the first time since the ape originally appeared in 3D in Donkey Kong Country in 1994. The business chose a more comedic look that resembled Donkey Kong’s original persona. On April 7th, the Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released in cinemas.
