During the Sprint race at Spa, Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri had an intense battle for the lead. Piastri, starting from the front row, made an early pit stop for intermediate tires and briefly took the lead after Verstappen pitted a lap later.
However, Verstappen quickly closed the gap on Piastri and used a Safety Car restart caused by Fernando Alonso’s spin to regain the lead. Verstappen eventually went on to win the Sprint race, while Piastri impressed with his performance in leading the race for the first time in his rookie season.
The race was affected by heavy rain and multiple delays before the eventual start, resulting in a shortened Sprint race of 11 laps. Despite the challenging conditions, Verstappen demonstrated his skill and determination to secure the victory at Spa.
