Asus has announced the release of the world’s first 500Hz Nvidia G-Sync gaming monitor

Nvidia demonstrated its point with the amazing Phantom VEO 640S motion camera. This camera has 72GB of RAM and can capture Valorant gaming at up to 1,000 frames per second. This new 500Hz monitor, according to Nvidia, will make target tracking easier due to smoother animations, and less ghosting should reduce distractions during games. Reduced latency is the key to any high refresh rate monitor, and Nvidia claims you’ll be able to see players peeking out of cover faster than someone using a 240Hz or 144Hz monitor.

Naturally, a powerful gaming PC and GPU are required to run a 500Hz monitor. According to rumors, Nvidia will release its next-generation RTX 4090 card this summer, which would be a great companion for a 500Hz display. Because the Asus ROG Swift 500Hz monitor is 1080p, games like CS: GO, Valorant, and Overwatch should be able to hit the frame rates needed to fully utilize a 500Hz panel with a high-end GPU.
