Apple’s rumored 15-inch MacBook Air may be on its way as developer logs suggest

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a 15-inch MacBook Air with a processor “on par” with the M2 chip, according to Bloomberg. The company has begun testing the device to ensure its compatibility with third-party App Store apps, a process that usually takes place before the release of a new device. Developer logs indicate that the machine was configured with an eight-core CPU and 10-core GPU, along with 8GB of RAM, suggesting that it will feature an M2 chipset, rather than the next-generation M3 chip that was previously rumored.

The logs also reveal that the 15-inch MacBook Air will feature a display resolution “equal” to that of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, indicating that the new MacBook Air will have a less dense display. However, it is still unclear when Apple plans to release the new laptop. While the company announced the M2 MacBook Air at WWDC 2022, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that the 15-inch MacBook Air would arrive sometime between late spring and this summer.

While details on the release date of the new MacBook Air are scarce, the news of a 15-inch version of the popular laptop will surely excite Apple fans who have been clamoring for a larger screen on the MacBook Air. The new device is expected to be a strong competitor in the market and will likely appeal to professionals who are looking for a lightweight, yet powerful machine that is ideal for both work and play.

Apple has been making a big push into the laptop market in recent years, with the release of the M1 chip and the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and MacBook mini. With the upcoming release of the 15-inch MacBook Air, the company is sure to continue to cement its position as a major player in the laptop market.
