Apple’s most recent Studio Display update resolves an audio issue

Following complaints of audio issues like as sound dropouts and choppy playing, Apple has published a new software update for the Studio Display. The new update, which Apple merely claims “resolves an audio problem,” is a revised version of update 15.5, and your Mac must be running macOS Monterey 12.4 or later to download and install it.

It was revealed this week in a document that Apple was aware of the situation. Apple purportedly said in the letter that the audio difficulties were not caused by the Studio Display’s hardware, and that to resolve the issues, consumers should remove the display from power, unhook any adapters or devices, and then plug it back in after 10 seconds.

It’s unclear if this latest version addresses the issues that have been reported, but it seems to have resolved one issue that Parker Ortolani was experiencing. If you’re still having problems, you can always try disconnecting the display, as Apple suggested – albeit this is a tremendous headache.

These aren’t the only faults that have plagued Apple’s $1,599 Studio Display. The camera on the display has also been severely criticized, and although Apple has issued a patch to improve matters, it’s still not as excellent as you would think.
