Amazon to host AI ready courses in a bid to improve AI Talent Pool

We all know OpenAI gets a lot of buzz, but Amazon’s been cooking up some AI magic too, like using AI-powered robots in its warehouses. Now, they’re dropping a bomb – a free program called “AI Ready” to teach generative AI skills to a whopping two million people worldwide by 2025.

Picture this: eight free courses served up on Amazon’s learning platform, not just for Amazon folks but for anyone keen on diving into AI. These courses cover the nitty-gritty of AI, including the cool tech behind ChatGPT and other language models. They’ve got something for everyone – whether you’re just starting out or you’re the tech guru of your crew. Three courses are for the business-savvy and non-techies, while the other five are for the coding maestros and tech-heads.

But wait, there’s more! Amazon is dropping over $12 million in Udacity scholarships, handing out golden tickets to over 50,000 high school and university students from underrepresented corners of the globe. Swami Sivasubramanian, the AWS VP of data and AI, spilled the beans, saying their goal with AI Ready is to level the playing field of AI education. They want to make sure anyone with a spark of curiosity can dive into the world of AI, tackle the big problems, and maybe even score a cool gig in the AI game.

Now, we all know there’s a shortage of AI hotshots out there. Amazon’s on a mission to change that, not just for their own crew but for the whole gang looking to crack the AI code. This move isn’t just about teaching skills; it’s about making AI education accessible to anyone hungry to learn.
