Amazon seeks to bring basic AI skills to millions of users

Amazon is on a mission to help out two million folks by 2025 with its cool new plan called “AI Ready.” They’re rolling out a bunch of courses and stuff to help regular workers understand AI and do more with it.

So, why are they doing this? Well, it turns out everyone is getting into AI, and Amazon wants to get us ready for it. They did a study that says like 9 out of 10 companies plan to use AI tools by 2028. That’s a big deal!

And get this – if you know your way around AI, you could end up making almost half (47%) more money. That’s probably because lots of companies are struggling to find folks who know AI stuff.

Amazon is dropping eight free courses for anyone interested. They’ve got some for regular folks and some for the techy ones. Plus, they’re tossing $12 million in scholarships for high school and university students who want to get into AI. Nice move!

They’re even teaming up with Code.org for an “Hour of Code” activity to get students excited about coding and AI. Students can use emojis and AI prompts to create virtual dance moves to their favorite tunes.

To top it off, Amazon is throwing $8 million in AWS Cloud computing credits to Code.org to keep the AI learning party going.

Amazon wants everyone to know they’ve got over 80 free and low-cost AI courses already. And get this, they’re aiming to help a whopping 29 million people with free cloud computing training by 2025. That’s some serious commitment!
