[nggallery id=88]

Performance:

The phone has a MediaTek octa-core MT8392 processor. The processor has an 8 Cortex-A7 cores and a quad core Mali 450MP GPU clocked at 2.0 GHz. The processor is without doubt one of the fastest Cortex based chipset available right now. The performance is very good on par with the famous smartphones from HTC and Samsung.

Battery:

Unfortunately it is the weakest thing on the otherwise amazing value for the price phone. It has a 3100 mAh unit which should ideally work for a day but it managed a decent 14 hours under normal usage.

Camera:

The phone has a 13.1 megapixel camera and is superb which is complemented by its 6 inch display. Photos are very vibrant and color reproduction is amazing. The phone doesn’t overexpose shots. Camera application by Alcatel is useful having HDR, sports mode and other modes.

Software:

The Hero 2 comes with Android 4.4.2 out of the box with a light Alcatel Onetouch customized skin. The icons have good effects and overall UI design is easy to use and pleasant to watch. The experience with UI is fast and fluid and doesn’t have any problems with using it. For supporting the stylus, the phone has useful applications such as Sketch Mate and Fast Math

Extras:
  • MagicFlip DJ, a mini DJ mix panel which allows you to mix your own tracks on the go.
  • Sidekick 2, users can remotely control TV, music and more.
  • ALCATEL ONETOUCH tied up with Swedish DJ AVICII to create the Hero 2 powered by AVICII edition
  • Alcatel Hero 2 is priced at 1699 AED in UAE.
