A high five and a shaking face are among the new emoji for iOS and Android

On Sunday, it’s World Emoji Day, which means we’re getting a sneak peek at the emoji that will eventually be available on iOS and Android. While the designs will differ depending on the platform, Emojipedia has a draught list and sample images for Emoji 15.0. This year, the Unicode Consortium has only 31 draught emoji, which will most likely be released in 2022 and 2023. While the draught emoji may change between now and September, the majority (if not all) will make it through. A shaking face, a much-needed high five, and wireless emojis are among the contenders.

Because of its vibration-like properties, the shaking face emoji will be primarily used for shock reactions, but it could become the official earthquake emoji. While the Folded Hands emoji is frequently used as a high five, we’re getting an official one this year. When used together, the right and left-pushing hands can be used to refuse something or to give someone a high five. If your boss asks you to do something, you can innocently claim that you’re just high-fiving like a true professional.

A wireless emoji is also on the way. Surprisingly, there is currently no Wi-Fi emoji, so everyone had to use the Antenna Bars emoji, which is designed to mimic a mobile signal. The Wireless emoji will come to the aid of all Wi-Fi enthusiasts. If you’ve been hoping for a pink heart emoji, it looks like it’ll be available later this year as well.
