Linksys WRT54G enters 11th year of sales.

·         WRT54G is celebrating its 11 Year Anniversary

·         It was launched on the first day of Comdex 2002

·         It was the first Wireless-G (Draft) router to market

·         To date – Linksys has shipped nearly 50 Million WRT routers

·         WRT54G router was later renamed the WRT54GL router to identify the difference between a Linux based platform and a VXWorks platform.

·         DD-WRT,  FreeWRT OpenWRT are third  party software solutions that were named after the WRT router lineup.

·         WRT54G was announced at $149 MSRP. Today the WRT54GL still sells – for $49 MSRP
