Furthermore, TikTok is actively working on establishing a second data center in Ireland, along with another in Norway. These developments are integral to the platform’s efforts to regain trust among regulatory authorities and the broader public.

In recent years, TikTok has been under intense scrutiny, exacerbated by revelations in 2022 when its parent company, ByteDance, confirmed that some of its employees had inappropriately accessed the data of several US users, including journalists. Consequently, numerous state governments banned TikTok from government-owned devices.
