Once you confirm the choice, you can restart the browser and if you want to try this feature out, download an attachment or a file that is either a presentation, spreadsheet, or document and you will see that the file is opened within the browser, and that makes things very easy, especially if you just want to view the document. If you want to edit the document, then you can obviously open it with the proper software.
