Network Computing

Meaning – The term network computing, refers to the use of a scalable distributed computing infrastructure that encompasses the key elements of todayi?s networking technologies, such as systems and network management; the Internet and intranets; clients and servers; application programs; databases; transaction processing; and various operating systems and communication protocols.

The two basic models of computing are:

1- centralized computing:- where computing is done at a central location, using terminals that are attached to a central computer.

2- decentralized computing:- where computing is done at various individual station or location and each system have the power to run independently.

Example of usage“As computing technology has progressed during the last few decades, network computing has become more frequent, especially with the creation of cheap and relatively simple consumer products such as wireless routers, which turn the typical home computer setup into a local area network.”
