Meaning – The term memory, refers to all of the addressable storage space in a processing unit and other internal storage that is used to execute instructions.
Typically, computer memory is a physical device that is capable of storing any data or information on a temporary basis. Now, the word temporary here means that the data that is stored in the computer memory can be edited or even deleted by the user. So, the content of the computer memory is permanent until deleted by the user.
Memory devices utilize integrated circuits and are used by operating systems, software, and hardware.
Example of usage – “Since her work involved the creation of large files, she picked a computer that had a lot of storage space. This way, she could create new files without having to delete the old ones for the sake of freeing up the storage space on the computer.”
